Environmentally Friendly

If you're looking to go green with your flooring, there are many choices available.

Most people think of “green” as being made from a natural, renewable substance, but there’s more to consider if you really want a floor that’s environmentally friendly. These are the factors that affect a flooring material’s impact on the environment:

  • Ability to be renewed
  • Ability to be recycled
  • Responsible manufacturing
  • Transport distance
  • Maintenance
  • Life cycle

Cork is beautiful, lightweight, warm to the touch, and hypoallergenic. We carry cork from Wicanders and APC Cork.

Linoleum is your green flooring choice—naturally made, durable, sustainable, and healthy!

Linoleum is a resilient floor covering made from natural ingredients that are combined with resin to hold them together. Available in sheets, planks, and tiles, linoleum is touted for its linear abstract patterns, marbleized swirls, and rich pigments.

The Floor Gallery is a certified linoleum installer with many years of experience installing custom patterns and inlays for residential and commercial projects.

We carry products from Forbo (Marmoleum).

MgO, also known as Mineral Core, got its start in commercial applications, but is a relative newcomer in flooring.

It’s ultra-durable, strong, nearly dent-proof, and even protects against fire. It has a more laminate-like finish that’s also very scratch-resistant. This type of core contains no PVC or plasticizers. We carry products from Inhaus Ceramin.
